Ocean Vertical: Adventure Assistant Vacancies

Ocean Vertical is an ethical adventure company based on the rugged East Lothian coastline. We specialise in paddle boarding, coasteering, surfing, SUP Yoga and mountaineering across Scotland.

We are currently recruiting for Adventure Assistant roles to support our exciting summer 2022 season in East Lothian.

Job Description:

Based at Ocean Vertical HQ in Dunbar and across East Lothian, an Adventure Assistant’s role includes supporting our lead instructors and customers during adventure activities including pre and post activity support.

The main activities you will support are paddle boarding and coasteering as well as helping on-site back of house operations. If you are looking to progress into a career in the Adventure Industry, this is a fantastic starting point with plenty of opportunity for professional development.

The position is seasonal on a minimum hour contract between May - September, with the opportunity to increase working hours in peak season.
Successful applicants will go through a PVG check prior to start and will then receive an ASI SUP (Stand Up Paddle) Water Safety and Rescue award, as well as full training and competitive pay.

To be successful, applicants must:

 Be 18+ or turning 18 before September 2022

 Be a strong swimmer and able to swim at least 100m in open water.

 Have a can-do, proactive attitude to work.

 Possess excellent customer service skills.

 Have a keen interest in the outdoor and adventure industry

It would be brilliant (but not essential) if applicants have:

 Sports coaching experience

 First Aid certification and/or experience

 SUP / Paddle board experience

 Surfing experience

 Customer service experience
