Scotland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. In fact, it has been voted “The” most beautiful country in the world! As an outdoor adventure company, we intend to keep it that way.
Scotland has over 6000km of coastline and much of its land mass is a beautiful wilderness of mountains, lochs, and moorland. And the good news for adventurers is that The Right to Roam allows responsible access to this wild and rugged landscape.
The Right to Roam in Scotland
Its set out in the Land Reform [Scotland] Act 2003 that everyone in Scotland has the right to be on land for recreational purposes, and to cross land for such purpose.
At Ocean Vertical we view this as a great privilege, that also comes with great responsibility. We have the upmost respect for landowners’ privacy, the wellbeing of livestock and active farmland, natural habitat and ecosystems, wildlife, and nature. We always work within the guidelines of the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
All our adventures in Scotland are silent and human powered, with small numbers of clients. We aim to inspire, educate, and leave no trace through our journeys.
