We are absolutely delighted to announce that Ocean Vertical is now a Certified B Corporation. It has been a long-held goal for the team, and after a rigorous certification process, we are incredibly proud to have got here. This is a huge milestone for us, and one that feels very true to who we are and what we set out to build.
So, what is B Corp?
B Corp certification is awarded to companies that meet high, independently verified standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
It is run by a global non-profit organisation called B Lab, and to become certified, businesses must complete a detailed assessment covering everything from how they treat their team to their impact on the environment and the communities they operate in.
There are now thousands of Certified B Corporations across the world, from small independents to well-known names, all united by the belief that business can and should be a force for good. Companies like Patagonia, Finisterre, RED Paddle and RAB are all part of the movement. Now, so are we.

Why it matters to us
When Ocean Vertical was established in 2019, the vision was always to build beyond the traditional outdoor adventure company remit. To serve community and environment equally alongside the core principles of safety, quality, and coaching. We have always described ourselves as an ethical outdoor adventure company, not as a tagline, but because it reflects the values that have driven every decision we've made.
B Corp certification is the formal recognition of that commitment. It's not a badge to display and forget. The assessment process holds a mirror up to your business and asks you to look honestly at what you're doing well and where you still have work to do. For us, that honesty is welcome. It gives us a framework to keep improving, to measure, reflect, and push further.

What comes next
Becoming B Corp Certified is not a finish line. It's a milestone on a much longer journey, and we are excited to move forward as a proud member of the global B Corp community, continuing to grow Ocean Vertical as a genuine force for good for our team, our clients, our community, and our natural environment.
