Where can I go Coasteering in Scotland?

Did you know Scotland has over 6000km of coastline! It might come as a surprise then that there are only 14 coasteering companies listed on the National Coasteering Charter [NCC] website in Scotland.

This may well be because much of Scotland’s coastline is wild, remote, and hard to access. You can check out the coasteering companies here: Coasteering West Coast and Coasteering East Coast.

There will be other potential coasteering companies who are not members of the NCC, but in terms of setting a benchmark in safety and responsibility we would recommend NCC member companies.

Coasteering in East Lothian by Edinburgh

East Lothian is highly accessible from Edinburgh and the central belt of Scotland, along with northern England – and it’s an awesome place to go coasteering!

Its coastline is wild and beautiful, with miles of sandy beaches, rocky headlands, and iconic islands such as the Bass Rock. There are incredible coasteering venues by Dunbar and North Berwick.

To lessen our impact on the marine environment we keep our groups to a maximum of 6 clients. This allows for a more immersive experience, and a much better guide to client ratio. Its just a more intimate and personal experience.

For us coasteering is a unique journey into the intertidal zone, swimming, climbing, scrambling, and low-level cliff jumping – and it’s also educational. As well as the thrill and excitement of coasteering you will learn about the marine eco environment, wildlife such as seals, dolphins, and incredible birdlife.

The more we understand about this fragile marine environment and the creatures that inhabit it, the more we can help preserve and protect it.
